I am trying to open an Access file, but it gives me the
following error:

"[DB_Name].mdb needs to be repaired or isn't a database
file. Microsoft Access will attempt to repair."

Then it attempts to repair and I get this message:

"Microsoft Jet engine could not find MSysDb."

Where would I find the MSysDb Container? Is it something
that is part of each Access file, or is it global to all
Access applications? Will reinstalling Access solve this
issue, or is it a problem with my file?

Any help will be much appreciated.

That is formatted like it is one of the hidden system tables in Access. Although when I checked (Tools, Options, View Tab, Check Hidden and System Tables) I could not find it in Access 97. If it is a missing system table, your best bet is to try and import everything into a new file except system tables (the options used in the view settings determine whether the tables show up in the import wizard).
