MSS error

Hi all

system ver G3R 8.03 simplex Port network

curenlt having a mss error and cant see the disk and the rmedia.not able to the save trans disk and the rem media

can i busy host adap and remove the remdia drive and disk on line..(its simplex only)

any idea how to resolve this issue

Firstly do not turn your system off or you will lose everything since your last translations.

Then i would busy host adapter and first try removing and readding the disk, the release it into service and see if it comes up. IF not try it with the tape if not both.

Failing that you may have to swap the MSS board. Bummer its simplex.

'busy host', then 'reset host'.
Did you try a 'test alarm long clear'? What happened. Only select Majors and Minors (not warnings) for the test. Do not stop/cancel the test! Let it complete.
