We are using MSQ620 to create work orders and there is the usual WO prefix field on the screen.

On normal MSO WO creation programs you can create a standard job (e.g. M62QT2 for MSO62Q and prefix T2) for that screen and WO prefix that defaults certain WO values, i.e. work group, maint and WO types, etc when the prefix is entered and validated.

Does anyone know if this can be done for the MSQ620 screen? Recent info seems to indicate no but wondering if anyone else has found a way around it.

As far as I know, there is not. I think Mincom intended it to be used the same way MSO620 is used.

On the Ellipse MSO810 - Maintain Employee Details there is a field for work order prefix to assign to the employee. That way whenever they create a work order the prefix will automatically default to this value on MSO810.

Also when creating a new work order on the MSQ620 in Ellipse you have the option of entering a work order number and or a prefix. You can type in the prefix (as long as it is a valid prefix) to override the employee default.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you need more info.
Thanks,
Dianne

Yes, was aware of those options. It would just be nice to have the same functionality where by entering the WO Prefix and confirming the standard job template is read and fills in the defaults of the standard job.

How about it Mincom? If you are monitoring it would be great to have some feedback!
