Have configured Isa to allow a user to use MSN messenger by creating a new protocol policy (for MSN messenger) and adding that user in

(we use Firewall-1 as our firewall and ISA for internet services only, no caching is enabled)

His MSN Messenger is the latest version and configured to use HTTP proxy etc (I am assuming the "realm" part is the same as "domain")

user gets the error "signing in failed because you do not have the correct userID and password for your HTTP proxy... 0x8100035b" (he userID and password is correct as his internet works ok)

If he disables the http proxy part (by-passing the ISA server), it works OK

Any ideas what i have done wrong in ISA.

Any rule which applies to specific Users/Groups require that outgoing requests be authenticated first. If this is not the case, the User will not be able to do anything.

Right-Click your ISA Server and select properties. On the Outgoing Web Request page, check "Ask unauthenticated users for identification".

Hope this helps.

Cheers
