I have a Windows 98 PC which keeps coming up with the error message

MSIMM

this program has performed an illegal operation....etc..etc

the user is alos getting an occasional disk boot failure.

Are these two problems related? Does any one know what MSIMM is ?

Thanks

MSIMN is the executable for Outlook Express. It usually means that you need to remove and re-install/upgrade Outlook express. However, the disk boot failure might mean that the hard disk is failing. Run a scandisk on the drive to check for errors. Also run fdisk /mbr from a Win 98 boot disk. If the drive is making any odd noises and it keeps on coming up with disk boot failure then try the disk in another machine. If it still does it, then you may well have a dying disk.
