Hi all...

I think I'm in a big trouble... after I update the BIOS (probably with a wrong type of version) of the MSI K8T NEO2 F, the mobo did not boot... no move at all. The keybord is "dead"... the monitor's screen is blank. What can I do in this case? Is there any solution... except buying a new mobo? Thank you.

If a BIOS update fails - your in big trouble. But, you may be able to oobtain & fit a replacement BIOS chip!

It may be worth having a look at the manufacturers website for what to do if a flash update to the BIOS fails.

You need to check things out very thorougly at MSI and you might find what stduc has mentioned.
If not, then get hold of their tech support and i wouldnt be surprised if you can get a new bios chip from them. They have been very good to me.

I broke a very tiny chip off my MSI NEO2 mobo, told them the truth and they rma'd it for me for free, even though it was my fault. I installed a new dvd burner into a small case and knocked a very tiny chip off the mobo, but they told me they would do the rma because i was honest with them, so i got lucky!
Best of luck to you.

yep - they have helped me in the past. But give em a couple of weeks to respond to emails - they are busy people.

Heres a website that can give you info:

Still, i suggest that you do as stduc says as far as going to MSI website, they will have something for you there to help you, almost certain of that.

From MSI, i got this:

Normally, this should not happen unless you flashed the wrong BIOS or some other reasons
Suggestions:
1. try the BIOS boot recovery feature as described in 2. try to clear the CMOS

But what you need to do is go to the download section for your specific motherboard and in there you will find a bios program to fix your bios.

Here is one page for bios recovery:
