Hi,
some of our newer computers are coming in with windows 2000. I am loading Message Manager 4.3.2 which is a 16 bit app. The application and fax software will load with out errors. However the print driver for faxing does not appear in the printers folder. I am thinking it might have to do with permissions, but I have checked everything I can think of to no avail. Anyone out there have any success with this this? Upgrading M_M is not an option right now.

Thanks in advance,

We had the same thing when we installed the software. If the software is being loaded using the network try reloading them one at a time, when we used it during the login we came up missing the fax driver as well. Wisdom is Knowledge

Thanks All Phoneman2

Phoneman2,
Could you please elaborate a little more? I am loading the software using the origional disks. I have been logged in using accounts that have access to Local admin, Local and Domain admin and the users account, none work. What access should the login installing the app have?

lopes1211,
I think the major difference between the two versions to one is 16 bit and yours is 32 bit.

Thanks again

You must have version 4.6 of Message Manager for the Fax print drivers to load on a Win2k machine. And as an addon note; The Fax print drivers in 4.6 will not load on an XP machine.

To get around the issue when I had MM 4.5 I would first load Windows NT4 on the machine, put MM on the machine, Fax drives load fine, then upgrade the machine to Win2k and the drives would still work.

It has something to do with the way the Fax drivers are being installed rather than an issue of working once they are installed.
