I am attempting to create a new data source, from a Paradox Database, in MSExcel97 via the following menu bar selections:
Data->Get External Data->Create New Query...
After selecting New Data Source I fill in the following options:
1. STEVE1
2. Microsoft Paradox Driver (*.db)
3. I select 'Connect' and the path to my Paradox8 DB using the browse button on the popup.
4. The drop down list contains the DBs contained within the directory selected in 3. I select the correct one.
When I OK my selections I get the error popup.
'I/O Error During Save. You may have typed an Invalid File Name'.
We are running Paradox 8 and the latest version given for selection in the ODBC Data Source via MSExcel97 is 5X, but I dont think this is the cause of the error popup for the following reason.
I tried to create a Microsoft Text Driver (*.txt, *.csv) using the same approach and got the same error popup. This leads to believe I am missing something in my Office97 installation, which is installed off of a network.
Can anyone suggest what the problem might be.
Thanks in advance
