Folk:
My problem is this.

I have installed MSDE 1 (SQL 7 VERSION) in one Win95 Computer.
For some especial reasons y changed the computer name ,and the
MSSQLServer Service refuse startup.

Can you help me?

You will need to get the install CD and start a reinstall, it will recognize the problem and fix it.

Or. Change the computer name back.

The problem is : Isn't SQL 7 , is just MSDE. Where i can find the UPGRADE option???

Thanks

Gaston

On the same CD you originally installed MSDE from.

Or as I said before,

1. Name the computer back to its' original name.
2. Backup the databases.
3. Delete SQL Server (MSDE)
4. Rename the computer to it's new name
5. Reinstall SQL Server (MSDE)
6. Restore the databases.

If you do not have the install CD.

I would really rcommend renaming the computer back to the original name and "LEAVING IT THERE", special reasons aside.
