I often use the MSCONFIG command with Win98. What is the equivalent command for WIN95, WINNT and w2k ?

There is not one in Win95 and WinNT. You will have to edit the registry in those two for the changes. As for Win2K there is now a msconfig for win2K. It is a separate download from a user site. James Collins

There are "clones" available. I'm not certain what exact platforms they work on:

Startup Control Panel
Startup Control Panel is a nifty control panel applet that allows you to easily configure which programs run when your computer starts. It's simple to use and, like all my programs, is very small and won't burden your system. A valuable tool for system administrators!

You might be interested in this 3rd party clone for the msconfig tool in Win95. There is no registry editting needed, this one permanently deletes the entries if you choose that option.

It's called Startup Cop. It's freeware. Here's a link:
