Hi all...

I would like to use Word to create a booklet that consists of letter sized landscape pages. However, I'd like to stable the pages together in the middle to form a spine.

This is easy enough except that the flow of the document is not the normal flow. For example, the cover would appear on the back of the first page, and the inside cover on the front of the first page. The back inside cover is opposite of the inside cover, and the back of the booklet is opposite of the cover. This continues throughout the booklet.

Does Word have a function to calculate what pages should appear where, and simply allow the user to type the document as one continuous flow?

Thanks,
Ben

Ben,

This is not a bi-fold, it's a BOOKLET.

I'm on Word 2003, so this may not work for you???

Page Setup - Multiple Pages: Book Fold

Of course, Landscape.

YOu will need to print duplex OR if you don't have that printer feature, first print ODD pages, make sure they are in the correct order if you are printing more than 1 SHEET (4 pages), put the sheets in to print on the opposite side and print EVEN pages.

:)

Thanks for the reply. I am in Word 2000 and do not have a multiple pages option under page setup. I have searched the help for "Booklet" and while there is a topic there, the closest it gets to what I am looking for it "Mirrored margins."

Any further help from you or anyone else would be appreciated!

Thanks,
Ben

I don't know any EASY way, but there's a way.

How many PAGES in your BOOKLET? For instance a one-sheet booklet is 4 pages.

I have 16 pages in the booklet, so that makes 4 printed sheets.

Bear in mind that I could manually place each page on the appropriate page, but I am trying to avoid that in case I need to insert a page in the future. I'd like the information to flow from section to section.

1) You will have to pre-define whats on each page. Try using LINKED TEXTBOXES to set up your document so that text can flow properly.

After setting up the linked textboxes, then cut 'n' past them in the following paging for a 16-page booklet...
16 - 01
02 - 15
14 - 03
04 - 13

Thanks. I thought that may be the solution you'd come back with :). I had thought about that, but again, I wanted to avoid it for the always present threat of later changes.

I have, however, found a solution that works great. After some google work, I ran across someone with a Template/Macro that works like a top. For anyone who needs it, check out:
