I use MS Project 2000 but I believe I will be maintaining a file in Version 98.
Need: Create a custom field that is viewable in both the resource usage view and the gantt view. I have a reference number that I need to identify projects by and need it to display consistently among views.
Problem: The custom text fields are specific to the type of activity so that adding a custom task field text1 doesn't produce that value in the text1 field for resource activities or assignments.
Thoughts: I thought perhaps I could create a calculated field with a formula that uses the value from a primary field for the values in the other activity fields.
Question: Has anyone found a solution to this? Does anyone have a suggestion? I'm not very familiar with Project and have never done anything like this. Any assistance is appreciated!
