MS Office - Arabic/English set up!

I have just started work in Cairo (Egypt) and the PC supplied to me has MS Office installed but when I open a new word document (based on normal.dot) it automatically alighns itself on the right and uses Arabic characters. If have cahnged the default langauge to English and aligned the text to the left but the problem is not solved as when (eg) I format with a bullet, it appears on the right of the line. Do I have to reinstall MS Office as an English user to solve this?

Have you looked at Settings in Control Panel, Regional and Language options?

Quite a few to check and set. Too many for me to talk about.
