I was using win 98.I del/set new partition and reformated my maxtor 40gig(72 rpm)hard drive. As the me files were being copied to my hard drive, I recieved a window which said"Setup cannot copy the installation files to your computer--message SUO325). Several times I tried(after repartitioning & reformatting the hard drive). I still cannot install Me. Any help out there?

Howdy:

This issue can be caused by a corrupted .cab file that has been copied to the hard disk. This corruption can be caused by a virus or by failing hardware, but is most likely to be caused by a scratched, dirty, or damaged CD-ROM.

This problem arises when a corrupted .cab file has been copied to the hard disk. This corruption can be caused either by a virus or by failing hardware, but the most likely reason is scratched , dirty or damaged CD-ROM . Try cleaning the CD-ROM or replace it. Also make sure that your PC is not infected by a virus. If this does not help , you need to check the possibility of failing hardware.
