When backing up from a remote computer, files that are open do not get backed up. Shadow Copy is running and not disabled. What gives?

Are there explanations in Backup logging or the Event Viewer?

Some mention of Registry Edits involving Open files in these.

Windows NT Backup Control Skip Wait or Skip Open Files

Files that are automatically skipped by the backup program (Ntbackup.exe) during the backup and restore processes

Your backup program may fail or incorrectly exclude some files from your backup in Windows XP

Thanks for the reply, I will look into the information on those pages. It's odd that the backup will not copy Lotus Notes data files that are in use on a remote machine. However it works if they are backed up locally. I am Mapping the users drive as local admin and pointing NTbackup to a specific folder. I assumed that if there was a rights issue, NTbackup would mention it in the log. Instead it says the files are busy. But so what, I want it to copy them not access the contents.
