I have followed the steps to move the data store on a MF XPa farm. but when I get to the step where dsmaint config is used, I get the error message unable to connect to the data store.

Obviously, my ima service will not start and my farm is down can someone help ASAP>>>>

I have followed the steps listed in FAQ48-3892 and got the Data Store moved. But the problem I am having was the IMA and the Metaframe Com Server service wouldnt start. I read more tek-tips and what was said was to move the server to a new farm. So that is what I did. Then I was supposed to move it back to the existing farm. When I tried that, it failed and said that I was already set up to point to that server??? So what we ended up doing was the cfarm and pointing it to the ORIGIONAL data store (this server still had the mf20 information on it. that worked but now when i do the qfarm to see who is the DATA STORE I see 2 listings for my new server. In simpler terms... Server 1, 2 and 3...
3 is being rebuilt and it was the data store so I needed to move it to 1. I did that and all of the servers recognized 1 as the data store. Then when I rebooted, the IMA wouldnt start. so I moved it to a new farm and then moved back. All servers still think 1 is the data store but when I do a qfarm, I see 1 in there twice and I am not load balancing between the 1 and 2. 3 has been removed from access to the published app so no users hit it but all users are hitting 2. Confused??? ME too!! Any insight or help is much appreciated.
