On my wife's PC (stats below) when she moves her mouse, changes windows (or moves those) her speakers distort (make fuzzy noises) in synch with her actions. Regardless of her activity, they give a little distortion.

She has a 1.3 Gigahertz Athlon with a built in sound card and a GeForce 2 MX. The speakers are plugged in to the speaker out port, not the line out or the mic in.

I have tested three speaker sets, some plugged into different power outlets, with the same result. I have moved them away from the monitor and computer, with no change.

What is causing this?

Check the device manager for interrupt conflicts. remove the drivers for the mouse and sound card and let the OS rediscover them (go to the websites for the MOBO and mouse and get the latest drivers)
