Good Afternoon,

I am in the process of moving from one carrier (original trunk) to another carrier (new trunk) and would like to know the process for doing so. I would assume the ARS, AAR and route patterns would have to change for that trunk group of the original carrier, is this correct? If it is what are my steps? Also will I have to make any changes to the partition-route-table? Will the UDP have to be changed at anytime? How can test to see if the calls are coming off the original trunk to the new trunk (carrier)?

I don't know how the NADP works, but if you were doing this in the Eurozone, assuming you were porting your DDI block to the new carrier, then all you need to do is unplug the PRI from your old carrier, and plug it into your new one.
You would only need to adjust your ARS etc if your new carrier were in a different area code to your old one. You would need to change your route paterns only if you need to change any inserted/deleted digits before going to trunk.
If the recived DDI (DID digits are the same then you do not need to change your UDP either.
Test the new trunk with a Trend or similar before cutting off the old one.

So I will not have to make any changes to the ARS table at all and all I would have to do is make sure that the old route patterns that had the old trunks configured will change with the new trunks. Is this correct?

You'll want to make sure your framing, signalling and coding options are the same on the new carrier as on the old carrier. And make sure your ISDN-PRI protocol matches as well. Have you got the new circuit on order? Do you have the opportunity to compare the new carrier's options with the options set up in your existing DS-1 form and your Signal Group?

Yes I have the new circuit and it looks like all of your questions you asked they have an answer too!! I will be cutting it over on tuesday I hope everything goes well.

Thanks everyone for your help. And thank you Rockspop.
