We are moving one division of users’ mailboxes and public folders from am Exch2k server in location A/ AD domain A to an Exch2003 server in location B/Ad domain B. What is the best way to copy/export the data to an external HD and import to the new server. One idea is to Exmerge to PST files and import them on the other side. Any help is appreciated
Thanks

I am doing the same thing. I've migrated the mailboxes and am in the process of moving the public folders. For the mail boxes Exmerge works well. Create PST's then create mirror accounts in domain B and then import the PST's. the accounts will be good to go then.

For the public folders the only method I've found spo far is to replicate them to the new server. This is where it gets tricky. Replicating the folders from within the same domain is easy, but between domains you'll have to create a trust and configure a replication that way or join that old Exchange server from domain A to domain B and then setup replication.

The domains are with different companies in different locations. An IT divorce so to speak. I can't take their server or create a trust. Another question is, can I do a copy with exmerge so I can test once before the final move?
