Moving DHCP server to W2K server

I have a DHCP server on an NT4 domain. I have created a new W2K Active Directory domain and established a trust between the two. DNS of course is installed on the 2000 controller but DHCP is still running on the NT server in the NT domain. Is it possible to move the current DHCP settings to the new AD server w.out having to recreate it? The current NT server housing DHCP will not be migrated over to AD instead the server will be decommisioned. I want to move the dhcp settings without disrupting my network if possible. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

for dhcp to work on a 2000 server in an AD domain, it needs 'authorising'...

you can't to my knowledge transfer over, no...

but you can set up the DHCP server, scope etc with all the options...

and it won't issue any leases until you authorise it in active directory... this should help you in this case get it up and ready to run...

I found a KB article KB130642 in microsoft's website that has a step by step instruction on moving an nt4 dhcp database to a windows 2K dhcp server. I may give this a shot.

I'd upgrade the nt box to w2k, run dcpromo to make them both dc's, replicate the two, then run dcpromo on the old nt box, and make it a member server, then shut it down.
