Hi!
I'm not very experienced in DNS setup, and this is what I need to do:
1 - I have a DNS server running on one computer
2 - I have another computer, where cPanel has been just installed
I need to setup the DNS server (ns1.something.net), which is currently running in the old computer, in the new one. Trying not to provoke a collapse in the sites which use this nameserver.
This is my idea:
1 - Configure the DNS server in the new computer
2 - Copy the zonefiles from the old computer to the new one
3 - At the registrar, change ns1.something.net to point to the new IP.
Any help you can provide about how to go with this process is much appreciated!! Once of my concerns is that I'm afraid that when I change the IP in step 3, the sites included in that nameserver might not be reached until it propagates.
Thanks!
Veronica
