I will be moving our Netbackup Business software and L9 Tape loader to another Sun server. I haven't found any info in this forum or on Google describing how to do this. In my situation, the clients hostname and IP addresses will change so I am considering doing a fresh install of everything but I don't know if my previous (current) backup tapes will be any good. My questions are:
1. Is a fresh install of everything the way to go or should I try to just move everything so my previous backups will still be good?

2. Can anyone point me to a good document describing the required steps to just "move" the current Netbackup to another server?

Thanks,

If you change the media server
De-commissioning a Media Server and removing it from the NetBackup configuration.

If you change the client
The name of a VERITAS NetBackup client has been changed and it cannot browse backup images written under the previous name for a restore
