Move home directories

I am currently installing a new server that will contain our home directories. I will need to recreate the folders on this new server. The previous home directory structure is beyond repair. The part I am unsure of deals with how the users are assigned their home directory. I will need to change the home directories for all of our users (450). Any suggestions on how to accomplish this in terms of User Manager for Domains? One possible solution was to use adduser and change the home directory in excel then replace the exisiting accounts.

I will not be able to use the original servers name nor the letter for the current home drive.
