Hi guys, I wonder if you can help,
Our current NT4 network consists of - accounts of 400/500.
however Our email is held on 2 exchange servers on site, but email is delivered/sent through a connection to our parent company in OSLO. (there fore we are part of the parent organisation in exchnage)

However now we have to disconnect - and at present its looking unlikely that we will be able to move AD/2003 in this time scale...I have built this new 2003 domain. But am having problems tryin to work out what i should do - try and rush a migration or find a way of replicating the data - or even configuring our current Exchange servers if possible???? I was told do replicate mailbox & public folder data usin InterOrg - however Inter Org Connector only appears to have functionality for public folders????

The parent company suggested sending over the organisation servers/Exchange 5.5 - however they run on a different domain...

If anyone/Gods out there can help - I would be ever so grateful!!!

first step is to slow down. Make sure everyone knows that this is going to take a little while. 2nd step is set up a lab with exchange 5.5 and 2003 servers in the lab. You need to test this before applying to production all sorts of crazy things can happen. It took our company of 1500 people 6 months to do this right 4 months were spent in a lab environment(we are very resource thin). So please build a lab to replicate your production environment then follow this document.

Exchange 2003 Deployment guide

There are lots of got yas and catches in the ADMT (Active Directory migration tools) and ADC (Active Directory Connector) that can really screw up your production environment.

Hi thats great, thanks, however unfortunalty we dont have that amount of time, we arent looking to go ahead with a full migration - as we have are about to split from the parent company and connections need to be cut from OSLO.

Now I am faced with a scenario.

a) We have an NT network with 5.5 exchange - which is part of the OSLO Organisation. - I have also set up a new domain in 2003/Exch 2003.

I thought I could set up replication between the new 2003 to the 5.5. using the interorg connector. (but unsure how to so this....Also if I am to do this which mode should windows be installed in Mixed/Native.

Or is there any other way of re-installing EXchange 5.5 to become the lead Organisation Exchange Server - and repoint the settings to the new MX record (at our ISP)

Im a bit unsure
