I have a .mov file I am trying to access using HTML. I have never done this before. I copied the OBJECT and EMBED tag coding off the quicktime website, but when I try to open the file, it either crashes the browser, or displays the "Required Compressor Not Found..." error. I tried using just Quick Time player to open the original file off CD, and I could not view it that way either. Is it possible that the person who gave me the file needs to compress it a different way? Please let me know. Thanks

copy file from cd onto your hard drive and then try to open it with QT player

Have you updated to the recent version of QT? Do so ify ou haven't.

My Quicktime is up-to-date, and I can open some other QT files on the web??

Okay, so copy the file from the CD to your Hard drive and see if you can open it that way.

If it opens, it just means that the buffer rate from your CD drive for QT is too slow and can't process the information.

If it doesn't open, then you are missing a required codec for QT.
