Can anybody help with a mouseover water effect please. When you mouse over an object it leaves a ripple trail over the object.
Any help would be appreciated ... thanks ia

that is done with a simple java applet, all you need to do is :

1.) get an applett

2.) set the params (your image etc)

3.) its done! Regards

Hello briteyes!

Just want to add that if you are not familiar with Java (needed to create applet) you may also use either Flash or animated GIF.

I would prefer animated GIFs 'cause it's easier to create and doesn't need any plug-in or Java support. So you have to create two images - first one is static and when you roll-over it it's changed with the other one which is animated (has ripple trails on it).

Good Luck!

Hi EugenePaliev,

Can you make the animated GIF in Fireworks 3.0? If so, how would you do it?

Thanks

Check out for the best water effects I have seen. It is a JS applet and the author charges $30 for a whole handful - unfortunately that only buys you rights for one URL.

I have been trying to research how to write these effects myself with no luck so far. The physics involved looks pretty intense.
