Mouse speed on Logon Screen?

I am an administrator on my Home PC (Windows XP Pro) with 3 Limited Users (I dont want other family memebers messing about with setttings as they used to do in Windows 98).

My mouse speed is set to full, with pointer precision enabled. HOWEVER, at the logon screen, the mouse is still slow...how can I change this??

(P.S. - As a side note, for "Limited User Accounts", can you actually modify what they can do or can't do? I can't find any more advanced settings...)

When to logon screen is displayed there are still programs being loaded in the back so the cpu and harddrive are still running at full speed. After you logon is the mouse normal again ? What are the specs of the system ?

No it's not that the system is busy....you know the default windows mouse settings (medium speed) - i find it too slow.

I want to change the mouse speed for the logon to match the administrator's settings.

This is caused by the asyncronous loading of networking during the boot up process. This speeds up the login process in a stand-alone workstation by allowing the user to log in with cached logon credentials before the network is fully ready.

To disable this "feature" and restore your logons to their normal speed, open the MMC and add the group policy snap-in. Under Computer Configuration-->Administrative Templates-->System-->Logon, change "Always wait for the network at computer startup and logon" to ENABLED.

THE SYSTEM IS NOT BUSY....

The MOUSE SPEED is the default....how can I change it for the logon screen??

Your mouse driver will be completely loaded by the time the logon screen appears, including all user settings, if you followed my earlier advice.

Why is it so important. I don't think it can be changed.
