As my system was bogged down with spyware, viruses and all the scans and fixed could not help, I decided to reinstall the OS (XP Pro). All went well. I lost a few document files but was able to recover them with the help of Tek-Tips. My problem is that my mouse function is slow and sluggish. I have a scroll wheel on my mouse. It takes forever to scroll to the top of a page. Same with using the down arrow. Programs open and close fine, its just the problem with the mouse and down arrow being sluggish when scrolling. It is definately a delayed, slow and annoying process. Any ideas?

Id visit the mouse's maker site and download their drivers for it and install them.

Two questions:

1.) have you reinstalled the CHIPSET drivers? if not do so...

2.) have you installed the correct GFX drivers? because it sounds like it is set to regular VGA, and any explorer or such will behave like a sloth without them...

BadBigBen, you were so right. I had the video drivers for the onboard loaded but not for the added video card. Works like a charm. Many thanks...msammut
