Go to Device Manager and remove any mouse that is installed.
Reboot the system and go to the BIOS setup.
Make sure the USB ports are enabled.
If the PS/2 mouse function is set to [Enabled] then disable it or set it to [Auto].
Install your new mouse and reboot normally. The mouse will be detected as new hardware and you will be able to install the correct driver.
