Mouse Only Works in safe mode

Gateway Computer Windows 98.
Using FoxFire Browser.

New member that needs help, badly ... I can use the keyboard to get around, but not the mouse, mouse works in safe mode only. I use a web cam with my MSN Messenger, and recently it causes the screen to go blank, and freezes up then I have to restart the computer. I ran scan disk, no errors. Any one have any ideas, please help this newbie. Thank you.

Is the mouse problem all the time, or only when actually using FireFox? Does the web-cam work in safe mode?

got the driver for the mouse??

Boot to Safe Mode and Remove the Mouse from Deice Manager

Reboot
