I turned on my computer today and all of a sudden my mouse doesn't work all of the time. I mean, it moves around and stuff, but trying to click on, say, my profile button in the login screen or a minimized program on the bottom of the screen does nothing. (Actually, clicking on my profile highlights it, but doesn't bring up the password textfield).

The only thing that's changed in the past few days is that I installed Acrobat 6, but I already rolled the sytem back to a restore point before that time and I still have the problem.

Anyone know what could be happening?

Howdy,

Acrobat 6 could well be the cause of that. When I installed Acrobat 6 the first time, my computer would start off ok then stop executing any commands. If left for about 5 mins, everything I clicked since it stopped would suddenly work but then it would stop again. I have to admit, however, that restoring back a couple of days sorted mine out.
Sorry, this doesn't answer your question but I just thought you should know you're not alone.

Good luck

You'd think Adobe is a reputable company. It seems that more and more companies are using their customers as product testers these days. Oh well.

I think (and hope) that it may just be my mouse acting up. I unplugged it and started using the touchpad and things improved for the moment. I hope the problem is not deeper than that! It would take me about 2 full days to re-install all of the software I have. :-(
