Just had a customer ask me if it will work with the Avaya 1616 phone. To be honest I wasn't sure, does anyone here know if it's compatible? The only thing I could really find on it was for use with Cell Phones.

Only 9641 has Bluetooth. I'm not sure now about 9621.

derflo, thanks i checked with him and he said it was for the 9620 and he has the Avaya 700383789 IP Phone Bluetooth Adapter.

Oh... Didn't know that adapter. What does the documentation about that adapter say about compatibility?

You usually need a special wedge stand, I know that :-)

All I could find on the adaptor was it allows for Bluetooth devices. But if you da a search on compatible devices for Avaya desk sets/phones all i really get is Jabra and Plantronics. If you look at some of those they do mention the Desk Sets but the Motorola only mentions cell phones if you look it up.

This will be a "it may work, it may not" situation.

Hawks, There is a good chance it will work. I was at a site that had 9640s with the IP Phone Bluetooth Adapter.
Setup was painless. I believe they had Plantronics Bluetooth sets.
On the phones "Avaya" menu button hit "options & settings", then "advanced settings", and then "Bluetooth"
Once your in the Bluetooth Menu, It will show device its paired with, if any. You will have the option to "change" / "disable" If there no device You will have the option to "add"
One You have the headset paired, you will get Bluetooth symbol on upper left corner of screen ( at least that's what it did on 9640 )
That Bluetooth adaptor only works with 9620, 9620C, 9621G, 9630, 9630G, 9640, 9640G, 9650, and 9650C
The 9641G does have Bluetooth capability built in.
So no dice with the 1616/16xx IP Phones.

Andre

Thanks everyone
