Does anyone knows anything about MS6526GL- L Motherboard?
I know it's integrated, but I need an office machine which will satisfy needs for Vs .NET application, using SQL server on network, and some work in Office XP. With 256MB DDR, is it a good choice?
Seems to be more popular in parts of the world that I don't understand the language...did a groups.google.com search for it and only came up with 1 hit in English...that from a fellow named Serge who had 2 of the boards, had been building computers for 10 years...and they both weren't booting...
Maybe it's too new a board for use to spread, yet?
Thanks, man. I've found an entry, but I'm not so happy when I've seen what the board has. Could you please give me some recommendation for an integrated MicroStar board -
or other - I really need a recommendation - or of some other manufacturer - on an Intel845 chipset - or a clue to
a stable machine. What do ya say 'bout this :
MS 6526 GL-L I845GL
IntelPIV Celeron 1.7
CTX 17"
HDD 40GB Maxtor 5400
256MB DDR Kingston
& other standard parts?
Opinion on new SIS chipset?
Suggestions?
While we're waiting for some of the regulars to chime in on the stability of the boards, I did some looking at MSI for what you're looking for and came up with seemingly a real honker:
Thanks, gargouille. Think I need more RAM? Microsoft is really hungry for it, man. Some people told me that 7200 rpm disk are not so reliable as the old ones - so I've tried to make a configuration which is a compromise between stability and demands it needs to fullfil. My workstation is a HP Vectra VL420 DT with 256MB of RAM - works fine on WIN XP. I've seen some good reviews on SIS 648 Motherboards - know something about 'em? I've seen
also a MAXTOR series of 20GB Hard disk crash so often that I don't know what to think anymore.
