I'm looking into building my own PC but I'm teetering on which MOBO to buy.
I'm thinking of a AMD Socket AM2 board with a AMD Sempron 64 3600+ Manila 2.0GHz 256KB L2 Cache Socket AM2 Processor...
I'm not a gamer, just a surfer with some multi-media adventures for the family...

Since I will not game, should I concern myself with the L2 cache size...is 256K cache enough?

Thanks!

The Sempron you listed is a nice CPU and does well with the MSI K9N or ASUS M2N-SLI board. I would add an aftermarket cooler like those by Zalman or Thermaltake, but...

...if you are open to alternatives the latest and greatest platform is Intel's new Conroe Core Duo. The beauty of it is you do not need to go with the top-of-the-line chip for great performance and awesome thermals, the E6300 is $185 and smokes the FX-62.

Anyone provide info on the different boards?

ASUS, gigabyte??? any opinionns?

thanks
