I have daisy chained two Gateway 850 SCSI disk arrays to the SCSI port of a v240. I can see the first array when I detach the 2nd, but I get scsi bus reset errors when I try to boot with both arrays attached.

After reading a bit, it looks like I can do this by editing the sd.conf file and adding LUNs to my target id. I tried this and no luck.

Any ideas on how I can make Solaris 9 see 24 disks across two disk enclosures and 1 SCSI bus?

thanks in advance, Mike

It depends... are your enclosures disk arrays or JBOD?

JBOD ussualy presents all drives as single drives with their normal SCSI IDs. Disk Arrays make RAIDs and present LUNs to the host, not the physical disks, so you can control de SCSI/LUN ID to present. You can change the LUN ID on disk arrays only, because disk drives cna only modify the SCSI ID, LUN is always 0.

If you have a JBOD... well, nothing to do, you must have another SCSI card.

Cheers.

JBOD is what I have. Thanks for the info.
