I have a 17" monitor but most everything, except for desktop, has shrunk to 1 1/2 inches inside the monitor size.

Any clues how to get it back to full size? Display settings does not change it.

Sounds like the monitor itself has to be adjusted over again.

-Vertical size and position
-Horisontal size and position
or zoom

Use the buttons on the monitor.

I have a full screen with the desktop. It defaults to the smaller size on boot up and during some apps. I looked at the video card settings and they are the same as the display in control panel.

I noticed this after I installed a game for Gkids. I uninstalled it but it still does this. I don't want to monkey with monitor buttons if I don't need to.

Thanks. I will post back if I fix it.

If a game etc. runs in a resolution you don't use ,
maybe the monitor hasn't been calibrated for this combination.

I have noticed that som old games when exiting normally
or abnormal windows dont throw the desktop back to normal resolution and refresh rate.

The monitor buttons will show the current refresh rate
and resolution.

The monitor really has to be calibrated for all settings:
Ajusted vertical horisontal etc.
for e.g:
640*480 60hz
640*480 70hz
640*480 72hz
640*480 75hz
640*480 85hz
800*600 60hz
.
.
.
.
and so on upto your max resolution/refresh rate.

Thanks. I can use my pc so I will live with this anomaly. Kudos to you.

No more help is needed.
