Hi Everyone

For a few weeks now, I have had a minor problem with my monitor flashing when browsing certain sites. I am wondering whether my monitor/graphics card is on the way out, or are some sites using new/different technologies that cause this sort of behaviour. There is a link below to my morning reading, which I have to say is the worst site that I use for this behaviour. If anyone reading this clicks on the link and experiences the same, please report back. My monitor is a LG Studioworks 57i and around 2 years old. The graphics card is an old S3 ViRGE-DX/GX PCI(375/385), and the refresh rate is as specified in BIOS DEFAULT.

Any suggestions anyone?

Thanx
Tom

I have the self same monitor 3+ years old in use every day still going strong.

The only thing about the monitor I would ask, is have you got the LG driver installed or just the default monitor driver? (side issue and not that relevant)

You know your system best and if you think that there is a problem with graphics it is likely to be the graphics card, though it should be able to view that site fine.

I would buy a new graphics card and as you are obviously not gaming you can pick a decent card for about £25. But if you don't want to buy kit based on a hunch take it to a local shop and let them have a look at it.

Your decision :)

Regards.

Thanks for that. I am using SW56i driver since I have never found the SW57i even though I downloaded a zip file containing all of their drivers, the 57i is not listed. I tried upping the refresh rate to no effect whatsoever, so I'm guessing at a graphics card upgrade.

Cheers

Give me a few hours (to get home) then I will post the LG drivers with the 57i included on a dead web page and post the link here.

Regards.

Top man! I look forward to receiving them.

Cheers
Tom
