You may also want to check and make sure you are using a screen resolution and refresh rate supported by your monitor. Boot up into safe mode (press F8 before the ME splash screen and choose safe mode from the boot menu) and if your screen does not have the wavy lines, chances are you are using an unsupported resolution and/or refresh rate. Go into the control panel, and open up the display properties. Click on the settings tab and change your screen resolution to 640 X 480 and 16 colors. To change your refresh rate, click on the advanced button at the bottom right hand corner of the display settings window. Click on the monitor tab. Change the screen refresh rate to 60 Hz, or adapter default. Once you reboot, you will be in a default vga mode that is compatible with all monitors. You can then go back into the display properties and adjust the setings to your liking. Just make sure you hit apply so that it tests the mode you select first. If the screen goes wavy again, wait a couple seconds and it will revert back.
