modem problem

I'm trying to access a PBX via modem and can see when the system prints a error or time but when I hit enter I'm getting 7's on the display, any wiat to stop this or the modem has to be programed on site?

Depends on the type of modem and whether you can manage it remotely, but in my experience most modem problems are fixed quickly with a site visit, or by configuring a modem in house and sending it to the remote site and asking someone to swap it for you.

If you hit enter and are getting 7's maybe you need to check your own setup, ensure the emulator is set right.

What emulator are you using, I use VT220/VT320

Same VT220?VT320, and I went on site, programmed the modem and still having problems, I'm going to replace the modem.
