I am working on an option 11 on my desk and have been doing a direct connect with no problems but now i am trying to set it up for remote access and cant seem to make it happen. the modem answers and at 1 point i was getting garbage on the screed but never could quite communicate. any ideas? I am using a usrobotics 33.6 modem on the pbx and a v.92 at the pc which i use on all my other systems fine.

if all speeds and settings are correct you might need to program your modem. make sure dipswitches 1,3,7, and 8 are down. turn modem off then back on. connect to modem with serial cable and use Procomm or Hyperterminal. Type in at&b1&w&w1. now place dipswitches 1 and 4 down and all others up. recycle power on modem. try it now and see what happens.

What thaaa????

Use tty port 0 of the 3 cables, the Dip switch on the front of the SSC card sets the speed.
Set modem for 9600, 1, N, 8

i must be missing something, i connect to the modem through my com-1 port and how do i talk to it, i hit direct connect and nothing happens. please keep in mind i have never done more than dial through one of these modems

now it works. for some reason when i did it the 3rd time it took the command and it worked great. thank you very much for your help. it is greatly appreciated!!!
