Modem and audio problem??

I have winxp home on the system I bought xppro with service pack 2 already on it and wiped my drive clean and put winxp pro on it. I installed all the drives and Now when i log on to the internet through my dialup the system reboots??? Also the sound card is giving me this message C-Media AC97 Audio Device

This device cannot start. (Code 10) Please advise with detailed instructions.
Here is my specs for my system:
Celeron 2.0GHz System

(1) Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
(1) Intel Celeron Processor 2.0 GHz with 128K Cache

(1) Lexmark Z605 Color Jetprinter
(1) 104 Keyboard Black
(1) PS/2 Scroll Mouse Black

Can you please give me some instructs on what to do thanks so much in advance

I assume that you have installed the correct drivers in your system. Does the device manager sees these componenets properly? Can you verify if there is any IRQ conflict?


 
Hola,

first off (re)install the ChipSet drivers, then install the Audio Drivers (usually found on the CD that came with the Motherboard, if this isn't the case then download either Sandra from SiSoft or Everest Home Edition from lavalys.com to identify the correct Hardware (btw. Everest has direct links to the Hardware Manufacturers websites))...

Then get a hold of XP-AntiSpy v.3.93 to tighten down your System...

about the Modem causing a crash, I can only assume that you need an updated driver for it to be used with SP2...
