OK.
The original was undoubtedly chosen because it was a cheap build, ECS is not known for quality and this SIS chipset (budget) makes for a very cheap motherboard option on a low end build.
When I say differant chipset all I mean is the main motherboard controller chips are by a differant maker, they both work just fine but as I say, SIS is regarded as being budget, low end and chosen for cheapness, motherboards using an Intel chipset will often perform slightly better but because of their higher cost tend to be used on the more expensive models.
