mno extensions added to files causes FTP problem

When I check-in the entire site, Dreamweaver uploads mno versions of some images--which are denied by the FTP program and so result in having to click OK many times--can these files be eliminated--I read that it has to do with Notes files--I am also bothered by the locked versions of files duplicated throughout my site--most if not all files have a .lck version--is this normal and/or helpful?
