I'm planning a new Networker solution that will replace an unreliable TSM setup and an old (6.1.1) lightly-used Networker installation.
However because of the elderly nature of some of the clients, I'm constrained from using the same version of Networker on both clients and servers.
I'm aiming to have;
Server: Networker 7.2.1 on HP-UX 11iv1 (PA-RISC)
Client : Networker 7.2.1 on HP-UX 11.00 and 10.20 (yes, 10.20!) as this is the last version that 10.20 client is supported-on (according to the EMC Information Protection Software Compatibility Guide). Means I'll never go to 7.3 until 10.20 is rid-of.
and...
Networker 7.0 on AIX 4.3.3 clients (yes, 4.3.3!)
My concern is the use of the 7.0 clients - these probably won't be supported, but does anyone know of any incompatiability with the 7.2.1 server?
I'd be grateful if anyone with more experience of Networker (that won't be hard) could run their ruler over this scenario.
Ta!
