While placing a set on a 3300 I tried to register it using *** and when that didn't work, I used set replacement ### and I received the splash that the set was locked out. What causes that and where do I go to unlock it?

Clear the MAC address assignment for the set. Also, make sure the set type programmed matches the set you're trying to register. This includes making sure you select 5330e and not 5330, for example.

thanks

More than likely you are using the Multidevice type license and you have not created the Multidevice Group for it.

It was a set mismatch as Lundah thought...I was attempting to replace sets for DNs that had non E type sets in programming, IE: 5330 and a 5340 with 5330e and 5340e. I wiped the mac, changed the set type for the extension and it worked.

Thanks

@ Crowtalks

In my experience, the system will recognise a 5330e even if the system is programmed as 5330. Not so much the other way though.

Depends on how old of a software release you're on. If it's an older release where the e-series didn't exist yet, yes a 5330e will work programmed as a 5330. If it's a more recent (MCD 6.0+), it won't.

@Lundah

I was using 6.0 when I discovered this. A set programmed as a 5330 but registered as a 5330e would automatically update the phone type to 5330e and continue.
