Been out on a call today and the system is having issues with ACD agents ie, wrap up not working correctly call being forced when they should be queued etc etc, this is the first time i have come to a system where the hardware maybe under specification

System has the following

Node 1
70 IP phones
30 channels ISDN30
20 SIP Trunks
CSM and MCS via a CT gatewas
FBMOH x 5
8 voicemail ports
75 hunt groups

they also have a second node but of the top of my head i can not remember the totals the there is a lot of IP phone this uses node 1 as a trunk gateway..

what do you think

If its not broke tweak it..

Two things.

In SWB there is a spreadsheet for the 5000 in which you input the trunks/extensions/MoH/VM ports etc, with youre config it states you need a PEC-1 but this may change as I don't know how busy your system is.

Secondly you could SSH into the 5000 log in go to the command line and type Top this will show you what is going on in real time and should give you an idea if the system is under-resourced.

good idea..

I have never come across a system that might be under resourced before so not sure of the issue you get, the engineering guidelines state the if you have 30+ group on a medium traffic system you need a PS1

If its not broke tweak it..

We added a PS1 to a system that was having random call drops and other sporadic issues. We looked at the system with the SAD tool and it showed the CPU almost permanently maxed out (under similar trunk and handset usage as yours but more CRA etc) :)
