Ok came in this morning and nobody could login, i checked the server and in the undelete bin and found the sysvol or part of it in there, i reinstated them and all was fine, now to my knowledge this has happened before, no-one has accessed the server or anything, so anyone know why this does it.

What should the settings for the sysvol permissions be on that folder at moment admin has full control authcated users just have read/read folders/and execute.

and system has full control ?

should all these have read only and execute even admin ?

thanks

We had a similar problem with the sysvol directory and have set the following permission:
Administrators - Full Control
Authenticated Users - Read & Execute, List and Read
Creator Owner - No permission
System - Full Control
We haven't had any issues since.
