Missing Standalone snap-ins

I am having problems adding "Active directory users and computers" snap-in to the MMC. When I click on the add button I get a list but this is not listed. How do you go about listing items that are not listed? (or add them to the list) The list I am getting starts of with two .NET snap-ins then goes to "ActiveX Controls" then to "Certificates".

Well I think I see what the problem is but now I am wondering if there is a work around. Since I was using MMC from a W2K Pro worstation it does not show Active Directory info. I went to the server and it shows up fine. Is there a way to get this to show on a workstation for remote administration or do you need to do this from the server only?
