I just added a router to my computer running Windows 98 SE. Somehow during the instillation and configuration of the router, I lost access to a file named nwlink.vxd. Now the startup stops and tells me that this file is missing. I would like to reinstall this feature if it is needed, to to disable it if it is not needed.

Also, please tell me where to install the file and how to file this feature.

That file is a Windows IPX/SPX-compatible protocol driver.

If you have the Windows 98 installation CD, then go to System Information/Tools/System File Checker, check 'Extract one file.......', type nwlink.vxd in the box, click Start, Type X:\WIN98 in the 'Restore From:' box (where X is your CD-ROM drive's letter), type C:\Windows\System in the 'Save File In:' box, insert the Windows CD, and click OK.

Ski: Great instructions. Thanks you. Simple elegant solution. I looked for two days and did not find any information to solve the problem. I take my hat off to you.
