Hello,
I just installed 2000 P and the My computer, network places and recycle bin icons are missing. They look like the generic windows icon used when windows doesn't have a file associantion with that extension. Everything works fine, it just looks a little goofy. Any ideas?

Thanks for your help

Right click on the desktop and go to PROPERTIES. This should bring up the display properties. Then go to the EFFECTS tab. Under the EFFECTS tab is a button for DEFAULT ICON. Click on each ICON on the list shown and then click on DEFAULT ICON this should fix your problem. Please let us (Tek-tips members) know if the solutions we provide are helpful to you.
